Tons of options here: -At least 3 large garages for vehicles are right near the Moda Center. -If those are full, you can potentially park elsewhere in nearby NE Portland but you're looking at meter parking and not likely to be as secure as garage parking.

Safety at Moda Center?

Unfortunately, there has been a higher rate of criminal activity in the area around the Moda Center in the past couple years. Just like with any city, you're best off travelling with at least one other individual. Even if you're walking alone and meeting someone, there is bound to be someone or some people near you whom you can walk with to the event venue.

Traffic around Moda Center?

There is definitely traffic on game night. I've experienced driving in it, and it's not a blast, but it's not the worst. As far as travelling to the Moda Center, you have plenty of options if you don't want to stress about traffic: bike and park/lock-up in the bike parking section (follow the signs); bus or shuttle in on the excellent TriMet transit system; or walk (very easy to do this from downtown via the pedestrian paths that cross the Willamette River.

Best insider tip for Moda Center?

Dine in! One of the things I'm looking forward to when I finally go to the Moda Center is the ability to eat quality food while at a sports event. Stadium food generally has a reputation for serving up beer and junk food, but back in 2014, the Moda Center brought in tons of local Portland businesses to serve up delicious food and locally-crafted beers. This definitely sounds better than nachos and a diet coke if you ask me.

Dealing with scalpers at Moda Center?

Ignore them! They are there, but they don't heckle and you shouldn't support either. It is strictly prohibited to scalpel tickets at the Moda Center so performing the act or supporting the act can get you denied access.

What to expect from the Moda Center crowd?

Trail Blazers fans are a well spirited bunch, but it's not like football or soccer where tons of beer is consumed and crowds get really rowdy and super-spirited. Your typical cheering and booing will take place, but the atmosphere will be pleasant (That's the same for if you're going to a non-Blazers event as far as I've heard).

Things to check out around Moda Center?

You will definitely want to check out a restaurant at the very least. There is not much else around really. You can schedule a group tour of certain facilities; that's an option. Other than that, enjoy some food, drinks, and the event. However, downtown is not far at all (less than a mile walk across the bridge or a quick bus ride away) and neither are other parts of NE Portland with other activities available such as galleries and shops. With Portland, it's really just a bus ride away.

Stores to hit up at Moda Center?
